A consultation meeting was held on Wednesday, January 27th, from 8:30 AM for two hours in the office of the Dean of the Faculty, with the presence of the Dean, Vice-Dean, and a group of faculty staff, in order to strengthen the atmosphere of empathy, clarify goals and duties, and express suggestions, criticisms, and expectations.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Kiumars Moradi, the head of public affairs of the faculty, after greetings and salutations to Muhammad and the family of Muhammad (PBUH), congratulated the arrival of the Mubarak Decade of Fajr and provided a brief explanation of the meeting's objectives, and then invited the Dean of the Faculty to express their views.

The Dean of the Faculty of Basic Sciences, while congratulating the birth anniversary of Imam Hasan Askari (AS) and the arrival of the Mubarak Decade of the Islamic Revolution of Fajr, thanked and appreciated the former management, Dr. Mansour Panah, for their efforts and services during their tenure in the faculty.

Dr. Dadestani also offered condolences on the passing of a faculty member of the Faculty of Engineering, the late Dr. Rahimi Nasab, and requested blessings for the deceased professor from the Almighty God.

The Dean of the Faculty of Basic Sciences further appreciated Dr. Ghasemi for accepting the responsibility of the Vice-Dean of the Faculty and emphasized the need for staff coordination with the Vice-Dean in the matters determined by the Dean's office.  He also considered the successful conduct of the final exams of the first semester to be due to the efforts and dedicated work of the staff and thanked all those involved in the exams. He then requested the Vice-Dean and staff to express their expert opinions.

Dr. Ghasemi, the Vice-Dean of the Faculty, also congratulated the occasions and the victory of the Islamic Revolution and called for more interaction among staff and uniformity in assigned tasks, especially in the educational matters of the educational departments. He also mentioned the development of a specific and uniform process for educational affairs as one of his expectations and requested the creation of flowcharts and workflows for better guidance of clients and information dissemination through the faculty website.

In the continuation of the meeting, experts from the departments and administrative staff of the faculty expressed their opinions, suggestions, and criticisms, the most important of which are as follows:

- The need for more interaction between the General Directorate of Education of the University and the experts of the departments and the assignment of some affairs to the General Directorate of Education

-  The need to expedite the provision of initial administrative equipment needed by the departments

- Applying more supervision over the private publishing unit of the faculty, especially the work discipline of this unit

-  Implementing and developing an evaluation system to apply incentives and penalties and improve job motivation in employees

- Holding in-service training courses due to the serious need of the staff, relying on specialized needs assessment

- Fair distribution of current and equipment budgets of the faculty in proportion to students, faculty members, the number of fields of study, and existing facilities

-  The need for new decision-making regarding the computer center and the reading room for graduate and doctoral students

-  The need to review the duties of the departments' experts due to excessive stress and job burnout (due to the multiplicity and diversity of assigned tasks)

Dr. Dadestani in the following, while summarizing the presented content, stated: We spend one-third of our time in the workplace every day and night, so measures should be taken to enjoy our work environment by observing the law and regulations with empathy and performing tasks based on job descriptions and, of course, by complementing each other; otherwise, job stresses, in addition to turning the work environment into a tiring environment, will cause our family environment and family members to be harmed by our fatigue and job troubles, and in this regard, the main stresses are related to the less hardworking people and the days when we work less for some reasons, because our lack of work should naturally be compensated by our other colleagues, and an example of these shortcomings is incomplete or sometimes incorrect guidance of clients and their unnecessary referral to the Dean's office and the central units despite the administrative automation system.

He also pointed to the specific nature of the audience in the university and faculty environment and mentioned purity, youth, speed in learning, and modeling as the characteristics of the student community and considered providing an educational environment along with peace as a necessity of the administrative environment of the Faculty of Sciences and continued to emphasize the need to hold internal coordination meetings by the subordinate units, as well as holding short two-hour training classes in the faculty to transfer experiences, pay attention to working days and coordinate vacations on days such as exams, and also perform administrative correspondence outside the faculty only with the signature of the Dean and Vice-Dean of the Faculty.

At the end, Dr. Dadestani, while expressing hope for the regular holding of these meetings in the future, once again thanked the staff for their efforts and active participation in this meeting./A.A/
